Requirement Engineer - 100% (m/f)

The ideal candidate should have proven experience leading the requirements management process for large-scale Rail projects, with the ability to clearly define, document, verify, validate, and maintain traceability of business, functional, and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The candidate should be capable of acting as a key interface between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring contractual compliance and the successful fulfilment of customer requirements during contract execution and engineering delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the Requirements Management Plan in line with project governance.
• Establish and apply processes and tools to capture, structure, and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain a requirements database, ensuring full traceability from contract and programme requirements to design and delivery.
• Working experience as Requirement Engineer in at least one of the railway projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, safety, environmental, and stakeholder teams to validate requirements.
• Ensure requirements are clearly communicated and implemented across all design and construction disciplines.
• Support verification, validation, and acceptance activities, ensuring compliance with contract, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Identify and resolve requirement gaps, conflicts, and dependencies in collaboration with project teams.
• Support change, configuration, and interface management processes.
• Liaise with designers and client/consortium teams using tools such as DOORS / ComplyPro, including evidence linking.
• Track and report requirements compliance KPIs to project leadership and the client.
• Promote a structured and disciplined approach to requirements management across the programme.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 8-10 years progressive infrastructure experience.  In lieu of bachelor's degree minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams and build strong professional relationships.
• Proven experience implementing requirements on major infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with requirements management tools, particularly Comply Pro/IBM DOORS.
• Experience in technical engineering and interface management within large infrastructure environments.
• Solid understanding of systems engineering principles.
• Experience in the application of systems assurance standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508 etc.
