For our office in Cairo, we are looking for:

Senior Contract Engineer (Egypt) - 100% (m/f)

The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience in contractual management within the engineering consultancy or construction industry.

They will play a key role in safeguarding ARX's interests by managing contracts, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and advising on commercial risks. With strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach, the candidate will support project teams, business development, and senior management in achieving successful project and corporate outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts with clients, partners, and subcontractors.
• Provide contractual advice to management and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian laws, regulations, and industry standards. Identify potential risks in contractual terms and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support proposal and business development teams by reviewing RFPs, tender conditions, and contractual obligations. Manage claims, disputes, and variations, working closely with external counsel when required.
• Develop, implement, and maintain contract management policies, procedures, and templates.
• Maintain accurate contract records, databases, and ensure timely renewals or amendments.
• Conduct internal training sessions for staff on contract management, compliance, and risk awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management. master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 8–12 years in contracts management, with at least 5 years in the Middle East (preferred).
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, consultancy agreements, and construction contracts.
• Familiarity with commercial, corporate, and labor laws.
• Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Certifications (Preferred): Membership in a recognized bar association; certification in Contract Management (e.g., MRICS, MCIPS, or IACCM/WorldCC).
• Experience supporting mega-projects or government contracts.
• Proven ability to manage high-value, complex contracts under tight deadlines.
