Project Controls Manager - 100% (m/f)
The ideal candidate will have 12–15 years of experience in project controls, planning, delay analysis, and claims management on major infrastructure and EPC projects. The Project Control Manager will be responsible for leading project controls activities across the full project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, cost and performance tracking, and support on contractual and claims-related matters. The role requires close coordination with project, commercial, and technical teams to ensure robust programme management, effective reporting, and timely identification of project risks and mitigation measures.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, maintenance, and monitoring of baseline master programmes and detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Oversee project controls processes, including planning, progress measurement, reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Lead the preparation of lookaheads, recovery programmes, and what-if scenario analyses to support project delivery and decision-making.
- Monitor project progress against approved baselines, key milestones, and contractual obligations, and drive corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to validate progress, assess impacts, and ensure alignment across all project functions.
- Prepare and review weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, delay logs, and management summaries.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of project control tools, work breakdown structures, reporting frameworks, and progress tracking systems.
- Support cost-loaded programme development and integration between schedule, cost, and performance reporting.
- Lead or support earned value analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring through key project indicators.
- Manage and support the preparation and review of extension of time claims, Time Impact Analyses, delay analyses, and associated planning narratives.
- Provide planning and contractual support in relation to project changes, delays, risk events, and claims strategy.
- Support tender and pre-contract planning activities, including preparation of master programmes, phasing plans, methodology-linked schedules, permit schedules, and indirect cost inputs.
- Lead coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on programme compliance, reporting, schedule updates, and recovery planning.
- Provide guidance and direction to planners or junior project controls team members as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 12–15 years of experience in project controls, planning, and claims management on large-scale infrastructure or EPC projects.
- Proven experience leading project controls functions on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong experience in project scheduling, progress monitoring, forecasting, delay analysis, and management reporting.
- Proven involvement in extension of time claims and contractual planning matters.
- Experience across major infrastructure sectors such as rail, tunnelling, underground works, water, energy, or multidisciplinary civil projects.
- GCC experience is preferred.
- Strong command of Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of project controls systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel-based reporting.
- Sound understanding of FIDIC, NEC, or similar forms of contract.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
