Our Hydraulic and Hydrology Design Team leads the way in delivering integrated water infrastructure for dams, pipelines, flood protection, and transportation projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Hydraulic Engineer to join our offices in Ankara or Istanbul, bringing leadership, technical excellence, and innovation to our growing infrastructure portfolio.

💼 The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to lead complex hydraulic and hydrological design tasks, from dam and reservoir hydraulics to drainage and flood management for major transportation and energy projects.

You will collaborate across disciplinesstructures, roads, geotechnics, and environmentto deliver sustainable, high-impact solutions.

🧠 As a Lead Hydraulic Engineer at ARX, you will:

• Manage and perform hydraulic and hydrological analyses for dams, culverts, stormwater systems, and flood control structures.
• Lead hydraulic design and modelling using software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SEWERGEMS, HY-8, Civil 3D, and WMS.
• Develop and supervise drainage and water conveyance systems for roads, railways, and urban areas.
• Conduct scour, sediment transport, and energy dissipation studies for spillways, bridges, and regulator structures.
• Coordinate design documentation, drawings, and technical reports ensuring compliance with standards and client expectations.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality control in all hydraulic design deliverables.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and internal stakeholders to secure approvals and project milestones.

🔍 We're Looking For:

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (M.Sc. in Hydraulics or Water Resources preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, or water infrastructure design, ideally within dams, flood protection, or transportation projects.
• Advanced knowledge of HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WMS, HY-8, SEWERGEMS, and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS / QGIS) and AASHTO / DMR design standards.
• Experience in project coordination and technical leadership.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with BIM coordination tools (InfraWorks, Dynamo, Python for automation) is an asset.
